Hard Space

This a selection of photos of the exterior surface of the impressive National Space Centre in Leicester. The building is ambitiously futuristic, while still retaining the feel of the space dreams – and perhaps dreads – of the 50’s and 60’s.

The Space Centre looks as though it might take to the stars itself. Alternatively, it could just as easily open up like a metal egg to disgorge alien visitors. At the moment, it also stands as a slightly melancholic monument to a potential future that humanity has failed to live up to.
